They are also tremendously condescending. The "managers" are super young and seem clueless. There were many times when I put in for shifts, and they were assigned to someone else. However, recently you were expected to pick up shifts from a pool, essentially fighting with other scribes to claim hours. When I was initially hired, you could work based on your availability. You say the demand isn't there, but why are there still open medical scribe positions on your website? Scheduling is also atrocious. I can understand if the demand for scribes isn't there, but I don't understand why this company keeps hiring so many new scribes. They said their decision was "difficult" and "based on our current expected demand for medical scribes." That was it, and it was sent over email. Yesterday, I was laid off with what I'm assuming were many other scribes. I would never recommend that anyone works for this company, truly an awful experience. No hours, no letters of recommendation, and no respect given to employees who are just asking for an answer to something that greatly affects their life (income!!!). In addition to that, a letter of recommendation was promised upon hire! Now suddenly they “no longer offer them.” Funny, as that’s why I wanted the job in the first place.īasically, everything advertised was a lie. Why do they keep hiring people if current workers can’t even get 1 hour of work? Who knows, they won’t answer that question either. Why isn’t everyone able to see hours once release? Who knows, they won’t answer that question. Management responds with a copy paste message whenever this is addressed that goes along the lines of “not enough notes to give out,” and this would be an acceptable answer except for 1) they continue to hire new groups of people 2) they pick and choose who gets hours. Many people have been unable to work, with some like myself going 3 weeks with 0 hours, and those that can pick up hours are getting minimal hours. Instead they try to save face by blaming poor performance on the scribes, who couldn't have performed poorly, because we haven't been able to work!Īt first, I thought the job was great, but then things quickly changed. They could have simply apologized for over-hiring, explained why they will be letting us go, and parted ways professionally. If they were honest and communicated professionally about their corporate mismanagement, I might have an ounce of respect for the company and their app design/ideas. Employees were starting to get upset in the company Slack channel, and sure enough - the firing email arrives. They hired us and guaranteed a certain number of minimum hours per week, and then offered zero to actually work. No one has been able to work for the past month. They recently hired a large number of scribes, had us go through hours and hours of training with very little feedback, and then fired everyone due to "performance" when it was clearly due to over-hiring on their part. I've never experienced such an unprofessional company.
